College of Music (Master of Music), where she studied with Susan Roper and Mary Plazas.
She was generously supported by the Alice Orrell and A&N Kendall Award, the James and
Mary Glass Scholarship and the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds made possible by the Van
Berkel Fonds, the Threes Orri Fonds, the Han and Rosa Dunk-Samehtini Fonds, the Aafje
Heynis Fonds and the Pos Karemaker Fonds.

Sasja had her first professional engagement in 2018 as part of the choir of Opera Spanga’s
Aïda which was performed in Friesland and Malta. She performed as Christian child and
ensemble in Opera Spanga’s The Other, a newly composed opera film which came out
October 2020, and most recently sang in their chorus of Carmen. In the season 2022/ 2023
Sasja will have the pleasure of working with the Groot Omroep Koor on different projects and
to be part of the Talent Chorus for Dutch National Opera’s production of Animal Farm. In
2023/ 2024 she will sing in the chorus of the Reisopera’s Das Wunder der Heliane by
Korngold and will revive the chorus Animal Farm at the Vienna Staatsoper.

She has performed as Baba/ Madame Flora in the RNCM production of The Medium,
Marcellina in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro (RNCM scenes), the semi-chorus as a ‘Hen’ in
Janáček’s The Cunning Little Vixen (RNCM opera) Margarita in Ermano-Wolff’s I Quattro
Rusteghi (RNCM scenes), La Périchole in Offenbach’s La Périchole (RNCM scenes),
Cherubino in Mozart’s Le Nozze Figaro (Fontys reduced version), and in the chorus for Die
Fledermaus (Fontys) and La Vie Parisienne (Fontys). Her latest engagement was cover
Marcellina in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro (RNCM Opera).

She was part of the RNCM Songsters and performed with the RNCM Chamber Choir in
Bergen, collaborating with the Edvard Grieg Kor, and sang in the semi-chorus of Berlioz’s
Roméo et Juliette at Bridgewater Hall. She was part of Nieuw Amsterdams Youth Choir
where she worked with the Dutch National Ballet singing children’s chorus in Midsummer
Night’s Dream and with Terry Riley singing the world premiere of Children of Gaza.

Sasja had the pleasure of receiving masterclasses by Della Jones, Claron McFadden
