He has a classical musical background but is increasingly approaching early and contemporary music at the same time. He began playing piano at the age of six. He continued his studies with M. Massimo Spada at the Conservatorio Santa Cecilia in Rome, and then with M. Gabriele Baldocci at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London. At the moment, he is studying for a Master’s in harpsichord and historical keyboards with M. Enrico Baiano in Rome. Leonardo has taken many awards in different competitions and has played in different venues, both as a soloist and in chamber music. As proof of his eclectic training, he received an award for his composition Brivido in 2013 and arranged (among several pieces) an orchestral piece chosen from Alice in Wonderland, Alice’s theme by Danny Elfman, for piano four hands. The première was held in Cyprus, and the song was performed by Leonardo himself and Daniella Nassar, with whom he has the duo « Asteri duet ». Leonardo is also part of the early music ensemble « Stelle vezzose », for historical voices and instruments. He has performed with several early music ensembles in Galleria Corsini, Uccelliera di Villa Borghese, Auditorium Gazzoli, and at the Etruria Music Festival.
