She is dedicated to Early Music and Historical Performance Practice on the one hand, but also to contemporary music and improvisation, which she focuses on in her pedagogical studies. Johanna has also been playing historical bassoon instruments with Klaus Hubmann since October 2022. She regularly attends masterclasses and has received further impulses from Conrad Steinmann, Susanna Borsch, Andreas Böhlen, Carin van Heerden, Tabea Schwartz, Sabrina Frey, Jérémie Papasergio and others. In October 2023, she spent two weeks in Lyon as part of an Erasmus+ exchange program to research music in the first half of the 16th century in France.
In addition to her studies, she works as a student assistant in the Senate of the Arts University in Graz as well as a recorder teacher. She regularly performs with various ensembles, such as Trio Tenso or duo nadima. Interdisciplinary work is also very close to Johanna’s heart, which is why she founded the collective ‘et art.’ in 2022 together with three other art students. The collective deals artistically with climate change in Austria. Their first project was an audio-visual zine and several exhibitions in Vienna and Graz in the period November 2022-June 2023. Since 2023, she has regularly played in larger ensembles such as the KUG Baroque Orchestra, Concilium Musicum Wien and novantik austria. In January 2024, she will also perform with the Youth Baroque Orchestra of Baden Württemberg.
