Selection process

The admission to the JOBE 2024 takes place as follows:

1. Registration
Fill in the form on the JOBE website (until 25/12/2023)

2. Selection for the auditions
Announcement of the musicians selected for the audition in Barcelona on 8th December 2023.
Announcement of the musicians selected for the auditions in Paris, Lyon, Basel and Brussels on 29th December 2023.

3. Auditions
In one of our partner conservatoires (Paris, Lyon, Basel, Brussels, Barcelona)

5. Final result
Announcement of the musicians selected for the JOBE 2024 on 15th February 2024.

Rules of registration

  • Studies: to be registered in a conservatory of music (CRR, CNSM, Pôle supérieur, high music school,…) or graduated (Bachelor, Master).
  • Minimum musical studies level:
    For strings : to prepare the DEM (Diplôme d’études musicales) /or/ equivalent /or/ student on bachelor .
    For singers and other instruments : to be graduated with the DEM (Diplôme d’études musicales) /or/ equivalent /or/ student on bachelor .

    Regarding level, an exemption can be allowed by referal from the Director of your conservatory.

  • Video : To facilitate the pre-selection process for the auditions, it is advisable to send a short video of a 17th/18th-century English piece (video from smartphone or computer, possible solo without accompaniment).

  • Registration fee: €20 (refunded if you are not selected for the auditions)
    These fees help us to organise auditions at several conservatoires in Europe (jury travel, processing and examination of applications, salaries of accompanying continuists, etc.).
  • Deadline to apply : 25th December 2023
  • Travel costs to attend the audition at your charge.
  • If admitted, accommodation, food and transport during the JOBE 2024 will be covered and concerts will be remunerated according to the SYNDEAC scale (159€/cachet/concert).

For each singer: a compulsory excerpt from Venus and Adonis by J. Blow (see below for download) and a 17th-century English aria of your choice (Locke, Eccles, Purcell, Dowland, etc…)
